Design To Go Case Study – Geometric Kids’ Bath

We’ve got another Power Hour(s) update for you today and it is such a good one! This interior bathroom was one of our very first Power Hour(s) and they completed construction last month! We’re so excited to share it with you.

This bathroom had zero natural light and needed some visual interest. These clients enjoy color, pattern, and a fun space. They wanted it to function as both a kid’s bath and a luxurious guest bathroom.

The before:

In the client’s own words, they didn’t like much about it. The existing finishes, awkward layout, and style all had to go. So we recommended a full gut and re-configuration to get every square foot to function for them. The shower needed to move and become a tub/shower combo for kids, the vanity depth wasn’t working for tiny hand washing so that was replaced with a standard depth counter, and everything shifted to create a better flow.

The Wishlist:

  • Walnut or white oak
  • Blue & white palette with warm accents
  • OR green & white palette with warm accents
  • Interesting tile
  • Non-floral wallpaper
  • Polished nickel + matte black finshes

We worked with them to create a space that will function well and give them loads of visual interest. These clients have a really fun style overall so we amped up the creativity with this one!

Let’s get into the plan:

Fireclay Tile has the perfect range of colors, quality materials, and shapes to bring this space to life. We decided to bring in the non-slip hexagon tile in a light gray for the floor, and the specialty triangle tile for the shower side walls and wainscoting. This whole space is the star of the show, but everyone’s favorite part is the back wall which is a custom laid pattern with 3 different colors.

With the finishes selected, these clients took our design plan to their contractor for implementation. Contractors love this service because they have all of the decisions they need up front and don’t need to go back to the client for all of the little decisions. We specify everything from cabinets to grout and provide a shopping list with links. They ran with it all the way to the finish line and we got to come in at the end for photographs. It turned out SO well and we are all obsessed!
